Egbin Power Plc Lagos is one of Nigeria’s biggest additions to the electricity industry. Often seen as the biggest single-generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the ever-rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.

Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group, and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years.

Requirements for Team Lead, Pressure Parts

Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
Postgraduate/relevant professional qualification
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience with at least three (5) years at a supervisory level.
Experience and working exposure to maintenance of steam generators and auxiliaries.
In-depth understanding of boiler Operations
Sound technical troubleshooting skills
Appreciable knowledge of safety requirements
Knowledge of standard operating procedures concerning maintenance of boiler and auxiliaries
Sound knowledge of power generation processes.
Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spare inventory management
Effective communication and Reporting Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

Requirements for Machinist

Minimum of Trade Test Certificate or its equivalent
Welding and Fabrication certification or its equivalent
Minimum of three (3) years of machining work experience
Good technical knowledge of tools and equipment required or needed to perform a job
Knowledge of standard operating procedures for fabrication and repair
Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspect
Technical Troubleshooting to determine causes of error(s) on a machine
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work
Knowledge of the power generation process
Ability to set up and operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts
Ability to fabricate and modify parts required for plant use
Ability to control, and watch gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly.

Requirements for Team Lead, Corrective Maintenance

Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Engineering
Postgraduate/relevant professional qualification
Minimum of Five (5) years’ relevant work experience.
Attention to detail
Critical and conceptual thinking skills
Analytical skill
Time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of document and database management practices and standards
Communication and people management skills
Decision-making and leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
Knowledge of Maintenance Management System and modern maintenance management practices
Knowledge of operation and maintenance of power plant systems
Knowledge of environment and safety requirements and statutory guidelines
Knowledge of IT tools for project planning
Project management skills
Knowledge of efficiency parameters of the plant.
