Headquartered in New York City, the status of UNDP is that of an executive board within the United Nations General Assembly. The UNDP is funded entirely by voluntary contributions from UN member states. Requirements for Programme Associate – Social Policy

  • Applicants Must Have a Secondary School Education.
  • Applicants Must Have A University Degree with 4 years of relevant experience would be considered
  • Applicants Must Have At least 6 years of experience working in a number of these areas; healthcare management, healthcare research, and financing, and health systems strengthening, preferably in low- or middle-income countries.
  • Applicants Must Have Work experience in sustainable development, policy analysis, private sector development, strategic planning, public health, medical sciences, research, healthcare programming, or other related fields.
  • Applicants Must Have Bachelor’s degree in public health, medical sciences, health education, health economics, health management, or a related field.
  • Applicants Must Have Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Applicants Must Have the Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Applicants Must Have a Strong record of engaging with the CSOs, NGOs, private sector, and development partners on issues relating to the subject matter.
  • Applicants Must Have Excellent writing skills, as demonstrated by previous research/analytical reports/policy notes on relevant topics.
  • Applicants Must Have Experience of working in and with developing countries in Africa, especially Nigeria.
  • Applicants Must Have Experience of working with UNDP or the UN Development System on matters related to development finance policies will be an advantage.
  • Applicants Must Have Excellent computer skills, in particular mastery of all applications of the MS Office package.
  • Applicants Must Have Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software.
  • Applicants Must Have Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Applicants Must Have Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Applicants Must Have A good working knowledge of software support applications to aid program planning (Kobo app, google suite, etc) would be an added advantage

Requirements for Programme Analyst

  • Applicants Must Have Master’s Degree in International Development / Relations, Economics, Business Management, Political Science, or other relevant field.
  • Applicants Must Have A First-level University Degree with two years of additional relevant experience and may be accepted instead of the advanced degree.
  • Applicants Must Have a Minimum of 2 years experience in information management and report on project expenditures, budgets, work plans, etc;
  • Applicants Must Have Experience in managing project financial resources and ensuring project performance;
  • Applicants Must Have Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems and ERP financials, preferably Quantum/ATLAS;
  • Applicants Must Have Knowledge of UN/UNDP Financial Resource Management is desirable;
  • Applicants Must Have Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Applicants Must Have Working knowledge of UN principles, SDGs, and international development in Africa is an asset.

Requirements for Civil Society Engagement Analyst (NPSA9)

  • Applicants Must Have Master’s Degree in International Development / Relations, Economics, Business Management, Political Science, or other related field.
  • Applicants Must Have Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in peacebuilding and conflict prevention;
  • Applicants Must Have Experience in effectively engaging with civil society in prevention and peacebuilding;
  • Applicants Must Have Experience in effectively engaging in preventing violence and conflict is an asset;
  • Applicants Must Have Knowledge and experience in engaging with Civil Society actors and networks in Northern Nigeria is an asset;
  • Applicants Must Have Experience working in the context of Northern Nigeria is an asset;
  • Applicants Must Have Previous working experience with UNDP and other UN agencies strongly preferred.
