Requirements for Value Chain Development Specialist

  • Advanced University Degree in Environmental Studies or other related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Forestry/Community mobilization
  • Working knowledge of English and any main Nigerian language (Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Pidgin).

  • Fluent in English and intermediate proficiency in any main Nigerian language (Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Pidgin).
  • Extensive and relevant experience in data analysis to support Biodiversity and Climate Research,
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, and training courses in the improvement of knowledge and returns for climate-smart traditional crops (e.g., millet, sorghum, cowpeas, etc) often planted between the restored rows,
  • Excellent skill in training to enhance the effectiveness and equity in the distribution of NTFP value chain benefits.

Requirements for Natural Resources / Environmental Specialist

  • Specialized University Degree or advanced University Degree in a relevant field (Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Ecosystem Management).
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in environmental projects, particularly mangrove ecosystems management, biodiversity, environmental impact assessments, and ecosystem restoration.

Requirements for Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Specialist

  • University Degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, International Development, or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in any of the following areas: prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), accountability to affected people (AAP), sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), survivor/victim assistance, protection, child protection, and safeguarding.
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • National of Nigeria or resident of the country with the valid work permit.

  • Experience in facilitating training and capacity-building activities on PSEA is required.
  • Experience applying UN and IASC PSEA standards, frameworks, and tools and/or experience working on safeguarding to international standards in complex humanitarian contexts, is highly desirable.
  • Experience establishing, maintaining, or working with complaints and feedback mechanisms is desirable.
  • Demonstrable report and presentation writing skills.
  • Familiarity with data protection standards and confidentiality is required.
  • Work experience in field locations and humanitarian settings is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, make appropriate recommendations, and effective decisions, including in emergency settings.
  • Experience working on prevention and response to sexual exploitation and abuse in humanitarian and complex emergencies is particularly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the UN system and global coordination structures (e.g. IASC) is an advantage.
  • Sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity, gender issues, and victim/survivor approaches are required.
