Requirements for Child Safeguarding Officer

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Communications, Law, Education, or relevant professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years post NYSC relevant work experience.
  • Direct or indirect experience of child protection practice and the Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Nigeria Child Rights Acts, child protection policies and practices as well as current issues about safeguarding children in the Nigeria context.
  • Good data management, data analysis, computer literacy, and excellent documentation and report writing skills in English are a must.
  • Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information as well as facilitate training to a wide and diverse audience.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Basic knowledge of the local language(s); Hausa, Kanuri
  • Ability to foster and maintain strategic alliances across multiple stakeholders;
  • Willingness to travel to and work in hard-to-reach areas; Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation, and coach, ng.
  • Experience in assisting in the development of local procedures, SoPs, manuaSOPsnd guidance on child safeguarding.
  • Experience in facilitation and coordination of training and workshop.
  • workshops in conducting assessment, monitoring, and report writing.
  • Practical experience in the participation of children in the intervention of program activities.

Requirements for Media and Communications Assistant

  • Graduated with a Degree in Communication, Media, Journalism, Literature, or a related field of studies from a recognized higher educational institution; with a minimum of 2/two years of professional experience in INGOs
  • Evidence of excellent English verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of different audiences including donors, journalists, and the ‘general public’.
  • The ability to strategically target a wide range of audiences is essential.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to work across all departments;
  • The ability to support the communications team in high-pressure situations, with changing deadlines and priorities;
  • Excellent understanding of communication and information needs, media and campaigning activities, as well as donor and member requirements and standards;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact, and diplomacy;
  • An initiative-taking, proactive, inspiring attitude with the ability to manage and prioritize an unpredictable workload and solve problems quickly with limited support;
  • Ability to fact-check and draft materials;
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
  • Commitment and interest in Save the Children’s mission, vision, and values. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
  • Knowledge of the local language is a plus.

Requirements for Administration Officer

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Administration / Finance / Social Sciences
  • Member of a professional body is an advantage.
  • Minimum of (5) five years’ relevant administrative experience, preferably with an international organization.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a good understanding of contemporary management best practices.
  • Must have proven experience in facility management.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Experience using analytical tools for data management is essential to this role.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer software – MS Excel skills will be prioritized.
  • Must be flexible and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
