Miva Open University is an education company building a new kind of university targeted at the African region. Miva is a Pan- African Distance e-Learning University that is built on a couple of beliefs: Firstly, we believe that the traditional brick-and-mortar approach to tertiary education is no longer a viable option in serving learners on the African continent. This approach will not provide the capacity and efficacy for the people of the region.

We are building a university experience that can leverage excellent academic talent (wherever it is to be found) and digital technologies to create a new, fresh, more efficacious, and more accessible tertiary experience. Our second belief is that this new tertiary experience must not only meet but exceed the existing way of doing things in terms of quality, efficacy, and preparing learners for the future. Requirements for Projects and Partnerships Lead

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field is required. Advanced Degrees and relevant certifications in Project Management or Partnership Development are preferred.
Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, business analysis, and partnership development roles, preferably in the consulting industry. Demonstrated success in leading and executing projects from initiation to completion, as well as establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships.
Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and execute project plans, manage timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress. Experience with project management methodologies and tools to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
Partnership Development: Extensive experience in identifying, negotiating, and cultivating partnerships with external organizations, stakeholders, and clients. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with key partners, leveraging those relationships to drive business growth and achieve shared goals.
Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset with the ability to assess market trends, identify opportunities, and develop innovative strategies for projects and partnerships. Proven experience in translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and delivering measurable results.
Excellent Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and proposals to internal and external stakeholders. Strong negotiation and presentation skills to influence and persuade key partners and clients.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Proficiency in analyzing project metrics, financial data, and market research to identify insights and drive informed decisions.
Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Experience in managing and coordinating teams, including internal resources and external partners, to ensure collaboration, accountability, and successful project outcomes.
Results-Orientation: Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high-quality outcomes. A focus on achieving measurable results and exceeding targets.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, effectively managing changing priorities and navigating ambiguity. Willingness to take on new challenges and continuously learn and grow.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of emerging EdTech technologies and industry best practices is a plus.

Requirements for WordPress Developer

Applicants Must Have Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Applicants Must Have Relevant certifications in WordPress development or web development are a plus
Applicants Must Have Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer or similar role.
Applicants Must Have Strong proficiency in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development.
Applicants Must Have Proficient in front-end web technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Applicants Must Have Experience with responsive design principles and frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
Applicants Must Have Familiarity with PHP and MySQL.
Applicants Must Have a Solid understanding of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques.
Applicants Must Have Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues efficiently.
Applicants Must Have Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Applicants Must Have Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Applicants Must Have Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team.
Applicants Must Have Prior experience working on a hybrid work setup is a plus.

Requirements for Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Applicants Must Have Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Applicants Must Have Proven work experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in an online education or e-learning environment.
Applicants Must Have a Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Applicants Must Have Proficiency in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Applicants Must Have Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit).
Applicants Must Have Solid knowledge of SQL and databases to perform data validation and verification.
Applicants Must Have Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Applicants Must Have Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with keen attention to detail.
Applicants Must Have Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Applicants Must Have Proven ability to lead and mentor junior QA engineers.
Applicants Must Have a Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences and improving the overall quality of software systems.
