Requirements for Access Safety and Security Deputy Director

  • A University Degree in a relevant field or an Advanced Certification in Safety And Security Operations Management in complex environments.
  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership and management experience, at least 7 of which with INGOs, with demonstrated capabilities in planning, organizing, and executing complex humanitarian security operations in multiple conflict or high-risk settings. Previous regional or Nigerian experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian principles, code of conduct, and specific sub-sector work linked to NGO field and operations contexts.
  • Experience in monitoring relevant local, regional, and international developments and assessing their impact on operational positions and interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear and timely incident reporting on unfolding security situations.
  • Strong experience as a trainer; ability to develop, implement, facilitate, and impart learning to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working successfully with local stakeholders such as local and international NGOs, government, etc., with sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Able to lead teams effectively and efficiently through crises and during times of uncertainty.

Requirements for Human Resources (HR) Officer

  • Education: University Degree in Management, Human Resources, Administration, or related fields or HND.
  • Approximately 2 – 3 years of professional experience in HR, Administration/Office Management.
  • Previous experience with Human Resources generalist.
  • INGO experience preferred.
  • HR certifications and training if any, will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of labor law.
  • NYSC discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies: Strong sense of personal integrity, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work with people with diverse cultures, religious backgrounds, and ethnicities.
  • Languages:  English, Hausa and any Gwoza Languages will be an added advantage.
  • Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Requirements for ERD Flood and Hydrology Manager

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrology, Environmental Sciences, Watershed Management, Climate Change/Studies, Geography, Geology, or related field required. MSc. is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 progressive years of flood and drought monitoring.
  • Good understanding of Food Security and livelihood indicators.
  • Demonstrated ability to write/produce quality reports.
  • Experience in electronic data collection and management
  • Experience in stakeholders’ engagement
  • Previous experience as a hydrologist or in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of GIS and GPS applications
  • Experience using open-source flood and precipitation monitoring platforms such as GLOFAS, Google Flood Hub, and FANFARE
  •  Hands-on experience running computer-aided models.
  • Familiarity with writing reports and giving presentations.
  • Computational and mathematical ability
  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of climate change
  • Good knowledge and skills in Infographics and hydrographs
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assess priorities and effectively manage a variety of activities at a time while paying appropriate attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with staff and project stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English Language (written and oral) required.
  • Good knowledge of the Hausa Language is desirable but not compulsory.
