Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) has a long and rich history that can be traced back to 1965 when the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) was established in the then Midwest Region of Nigeria. In September 1978, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) which was earlier established to replace the NBC Metamorphosed into Radio Bendel with a Television arm added in 1980 to complement its service.

With the Creation of Edo State in August 1991, the outfit became Edo Broadcasting Service.
Its vision is to Inform, Educate, and Entertain the Public, and Become the Leading, Credible Voice and Face of Edo State. With a mandate to deliver News and information to people within and Outside Edo State, its mission is to highlight the Government’s Programmes, Projects, and Activities; Leverage existing Technology for Service Delivery and be a high-performing, financially viable, digitized, State public broadcasting corporation.

Requirements for Telecom / Broadcast / Sound Engineer

• Candidates should possess OND / HND / B.Sc Degrees in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or B.Sc Degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related course such as (BE Broadcast / Communications Technology) with relevant work experience.
• The age limit is not more than 35 years.

Requirements for Equipment Technician

• Candidates should possess OND / HND / B.Sc Degrees in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or B.Sc Degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related course such as (BE Broadcast / Communications Technology) with relevant work experience.
• The age limit is not more than 35 years.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment faults.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and related components.
• Ability to use a variety of power and hand tools. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Equipment Technician Skills.
• Troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Inspecting, testing, and diagnosing faults. Carrying out preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Carrying out repairs and replacing faulty parts. Ordering and maintaining a stock of spares and components.
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair. Following health and safety regulations.
• Equipment Technician Personal Traits.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Requirements for Engineering Technician

• Candidates should possess OND / HND / B.Sc Degrees in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or B.Sc Degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related course such as (BE Broadcast / Communications Technology) with relevant work experience.
• The age limit is not more than 35 years.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring instruments
• Ability to use hand tools, machine shop equipment, and various test equipment
• Good knowledge of mathematics and physics
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Engineering Technician Skills
