Requirements for Country Director

  • Applicants Must Have a Master’s Degree required. Any higher Degree is an added advantage.
  • Applicants Must Have A minimum of 5 years in the Executive Management of development work and poverty eradication programs. Demonstrated Senior Management expertise, including proven ability to develop the capacities of multi-disciplinary professional teams undertaking comprehensive poverty eradication strategies.
  • Applicants Must Have a Minimum of 20 years of cumulative experience
  • Applicants Must Have Sound and up-to-date knowledge of development concepts, methodologies, and techniques including demonstrated expertise in at least one specialist development field.
  • Applicants Must Have Appropriate degree-level qualifications, preferably supplemented by relevant post-graduate qualifications.
  • Applicants Must Have Ability to properly manage complex financial control and management systems.
  • Applicants Must Have the Ability to lead an organization through a change process
  • Applicants Must Have Experience working with Board and Board development activities.
  • Applicants Must Have Demonstrated expertise in strategic and long-term planning and the ability to ensure that operational plans and activities meet targets and appropriately reflect longer-term perspectives. Capacity to reflect and examine programs to ensure evolution and to encourage this from others.
  • Applicants Must Have Excellent negotiation and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to handle sensitive diplomatic and Government level negotiations on matters affecting ActionAid’s programs.
  • Applicants Must Have Sound awareness of the political, social, economic, and historic environment in which ActionAid’s poverty eradication programs are operating at both national and community levels.
  • Applicants Must Have Proven initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm for managing complex activities in a changing environment.
  • Applicants Must Have an Understanding of feminist leadership and experience in promoting it
  • Applicants Must Have Professional proficiency in English and a familiarity with Nigeria’s socio-economic and political context.

Requirements for project Coordinator – Citizens’ Led Engagements on Judicial Accountability in Post-Election Justice Delivery in Nigeria, (CLEAP Justice Project)

  • Applicants Must Have a Barrister-at-Law (B.L) and Bachelor of Law (LLB) are essential.
  • Applicants Must Have Membership in relevant professional institutes is desirable.
  • Applicants Must Have At least seven (7) years of experience, four (4) of which should be in a similar role with particular emphasis on election interventions in the development sector preferably at the state level is essential.
  • Applicants Must Have Experience working on an election project is desirable.
  • Applicants Must Have Experience working with multi-sectoral stakeholders is desirable.

Requirements for Finance Coordinator, Citizens’ Led Engagements on Judicial Accountability in Post-Election Justice Delivery in Nigeria, (CLEAP Justice Project)

  • Applicants Must Have A first Degree in Finance / Accounting is essential.
  • Applicants Must Have a Membership in a professional accounting body is desirable.
  • Applicants Must Have A Master’s Degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Applicants Must Have a Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience, four (4) of which should be in a related finance field is essential.
  • Applicants Must Have Experience in managing donor-funded grants and supporting partner organizations is essential.
  • Applicants Must Have Experience working in the INGO sector as an Accountant is desirable.
